Wire Sawing
A diamond wire threaded through pulleys on a drive wheel, for large concrete sections, hard-to-reach areas and precise cuts that a blade saw cannot make.

Wire sawing earns its place on the truck for the cuts nothing else reaches: large concrete sections, hard-to-reach areas, and cuts that need to be precise, on both commercial and residential jobs. A diamond wire is threaded through a series of pulleys attached to a drive wheel, and a constant pulling force is applied to the spinning wire to cut through the concrete. Because the wire itself is thin, diamond wire cutting produces less kerf and wasted material than a blade cut of the same size, which can save a customer hundreds or thousands of dollars in wasted materials on a large section. Why a wire instead of a blade
A blade saw is limited by its diameter, it can only cut as deep as the blade is wide. A wire has no such limit. It can wrap around a section a blade cannot reach and cut all the way through in one continuous pass. That is the difference between wire sawing and every other method on this site, and it is why we reach for it on the largest or most awkward sections.

This is one of our own crews threading a wire-saw rig against a raw excavation face. The wire runs through the pulleys, the drive wheel takes up the tension, and the cut is already underway before it looks like anything has moved.
